Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet +

Hello everybody! So Im finally back from vacation and out of lazy mode haha. I didn't realize how difficult it would be for me to jump back into the groove of my routine ugh. But today I have a post on a holy grail foundation that helped me looked matte and fresh while on vacation. Its Make Up ForEver Mat Velvet +, this product is genius and I never really understood how much I loved it until now.

Make Up ForEver Mat Velvet + is a full, matte coverage that comes in a huge range of colors. It has a velvet texture, and is easy to blend. A little goes a long way, and you want to be careful with application, because it can come off as cake and heavy. I really enjoy the texture of this foundation, simply because it makes my skin feel so soft and put together. Since its heavier coverage I don't need concealer to cover the black spots on the side of my face, which is what I love most about full coverage foundations, its a one stop shop.

The wear time was amazing, which I was surprised because theres no "long lasting" claim to the product. Even though it goes on matte, after awhile shine does begin to break through. It wasn't a deal breaker, simply because I was in Vegas and walking around all day I expected for some shine to come into play. But even with the shine, my face still looked really fresh and elegant. I just felt pretty with this on!

I love this foundation and I think its a must have.!

NYX Tinted Moisturizer Hydratant Review

Now let me be the 1st to say that I am in no way a fan of CC, BB, or tinted moisturizer, simply because those formulas don't give enough coverage to me likely, so I slightly skeptic about the NEW NYX tinted moisturizer. But recently I've been looking for something light that I could wear to the gym, so I figured why not. On to the review!

NYX tinted moisturizer is a lightweight, oil free, fragrance free foundation. I got the darkest shade in Almond and it matches my coloring, but its way to red on me. But for the reason of the review I wore it for a few day to test it out. Its very lightweight and barely gives coverage. Even with 2 layers it didn't even give a medium coverage. It does give a luminous finish to the skin, that doesn't appear shiny or greasy looking. Since it was so sheer, it really didn't have a long staying power. I felt like it faded away after a couple of hours.

I'm not crazy about this is tinted moisturizer on its on, but I found that its a nice addition to mix in with some other my other more heavier foundations that I wish were a little bit more moisturizing or thick. Overall I think this is a nice tinted moisturizer if you have perfect skin or don't mind spending extra time concealing. It will show your skin, and does give a fresh healthy finish. But this wasn't a tinted moisturizer that convert me to lighter formula side, but its nice if this is your kind of thing.

Make Up For Ever HD Foundation

 I guess this week is Throwback product week, because I have just been loving some old favorites lately. Today I have a quick post on the Make Up For Ever HD foundation, this is a cult classic among ordinary people and makeup artists. This foundation is heaven and everyone need to have it!

This is a lightweight, odorless medium coverage foundation. It gives a nice sheen to the skin nothing to shiny or luminous that oily skin people would need to worry about. There is no SPF in this foundation so theres no worry about flashbacks in photography. This last on my skin all day with the help of a setting spray or finishing powders. I just love this foundation. I find for me that it best applies with a beauty blender or a flat top foundation style brush. It just gives a flawless finish.!

I love this foundation and have brought several of them for years, and I recommend this foundation to every one with all skin types and ages.

January Favorites 2014

So January is OVER! January is one of my favorite months simply because its my birthday and the start of a new year. Today I'm bringing you my January favorites, which isn't a lot because I was so busy this month. Let's drive right into it!

First up is MAC Face and Body foundation. Quick story on this product I used to HATE this foundation. So what changed it to be a favorite? My skin. My skin cleared up since the last time I used this and I am in LOVE. I apply 2 coats and top it off with my MAC Mineralize Skinfinish. This has been my everyday look this month!

Lush Mask of Magnaminty Cleanser is one of my ALL TIME favorite mask. Its prompted by LUSH as a cleanser, but I use it as a nice, gentle mask everyday. It gives a nice, tingle, refreshing feeling and my skin just feels so radiant.

Wet n Wild Fergie On Edge Longwearing Eye Liner in the color Hyper Sky is from the new permanent line of eyeliner within the Fergie collection. I just love this color blue and awakes my eyes so much when applied to my waterline. It is pretty long wearing, but slightly fades in color towards the end of the day. But overall its a beauty!

Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight mask is a great moisturizer for my skin doing the winter time for me. I use it nightly and it just gives my skin baby skin smoothes in the morning. My face feels hydrated and fresh.

Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser is a black charcoal scrub that is heaven in a bottle. As I rub this into my face I can feel a cooling refreshing on my skin. My skin looks and feels so clean with that "over drying" feeling. I love this cleanser.

NARS Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder is pretty impressive. It lightweight and finely milled sparkling particles. It doesn't give my face a flat matte look, but simply a fresh, blurred look. If you have deeper skin, be careful with being to product heavy because it can give .|a white case effect if too much is applied.

MAC Select Cover Up concealer is a sheer to medium coverage concealer. I like this because it sets fast and dries down to a matte finish, so once in place it won't move. LOVE IT!

MAC Sable eyeshadow is a favorite of mines and has been for years. Its just the perfect peachy, shimmery color that suits every occasion. As you can see I have hit pan on mines and will be purchasing another sometime this week.

Revlon PhotoReady Skinlights in Peach Light is a beautiful illuminator with shimmery particles. I enjoy wearing this under my foundation because it gives a nice sheer throughout the day and truly keeps me looking dewy and healthy for the day

L'oreal Color Vibrancy Instant Shock Treatment is quick 60 seconds conditioner that gives your color treated hair a shiny, brilliant look. I recently dyed my hair a black blue color and this really keeps my color alive and awake.

Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo Foundation Review

Im so excited to be reviewing the Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo foundation. Now I am a huge fan of medium to full coverage foundation. It took me awhile to get this because I couldn't find my shade all the colors were either too light or way to yellow. I finally settled on Deep 71 and even those the color isn't great I LOVE the look.

The Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo foundation a full coverage matte foundation. There is no if,and or buts this will cover every scar, blemish, uneven skin tone etc. There is a weird chocolate scent thats slightly bothering at all, but it quickly goes away. For me this foundation lasted all day on me thats with me setting it with a makeup spray and without. Sadly for me the color Deep 71 is very yellow, so I have to use my MAC mineralize skin finish powder to bring some of the yellow down.
Despite the heavy yellow undertone in the foundation, I am in love. It goes a long way so you don't need to be heavy handed. I can do my entire face with 1 pump and that never happens with foundation with me. Hopefully the color range will borden a little more, but for now I love it. You can find this at sephora.com

MAC Face and Body Foundation

Happy Monday everyone. What is everyone doing? Im enjoying this beautiful holiday outside, the weather in TX has been so good lately that I can't image just sitting in the house. Today I have MAC Face and Body foundation. Now in the past I have purchase this foundation 3 times and returned it because it was just to sheer for my acne prone skin and scars. But within the last year my face has gotten clearer and my scars are fading so I figured I give it another try. And boy do I love it this time around!

MAC Face and Body is a light weight water based foundation. MAC sells these in 2 different sizes 50mL and 120mL. I have the 50mL but because I love it so much for an extra $8 dollars I'll probably go purchase the bigger size. Now because this is a water base foundation you MUST SHAKE IT WELL! The coverage on this is sheer and it covers up nearly nothing. To get a medium coverage you can do 2 things: a.)wait between layers let each layer dry completely between applying the next and b.) pour some out and allow for it to tacky, then apply. This will help give you more coverage.

Now this foundation will in no way ever be full coverage. I find that applying this with fingers, brushes or a beauty blender works wonderful. It last all day and gives a nice sheen to the skin all day, but it won't make you greasy or oily. My shade is C7 which is slightly to light,but I use my MAC skin finish in dark, so it evens out perfectly.

This foundation is a winner for anyone looking for light coverage and has the patience to build it up to a medium coverage. If you have scars, those will need to be conceal, because sadly this foundation just isn't going to cover. But I feel this is great for a day of errands, or if you like me and just need to have something on your skin, then this is the prodct for you..
